Israr Atal: A Poet of Peace and Love
Israr Atal was a Pashto poet who was born in 1987 in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan. He started writing poetry at a young age and became famous for his romantic and patriotic poems. He also wrote about social issues, such as poverty, education, and peace. He published his first poetry book, Da Ghairat Chagha (The Lamps of Honor), in 2009. He also recorded his poems and uploaded them on social media platforms, where he gained a large fan following.

Israr Atal was killed in a suicide attack in Jalalabad city on December 6, 2017. He was 30 years old. Israr Atal was born on April 20, 1980 in Lund Khwar village of Mardan, Pakistan. He did his Master of Arts in Pashto from University of Peshawar and was pursuing his PhD from the same university. He was not only a poet, but also a scholar, broadcaster, and journalist. He wrote many Pashto songs and sang his own ghazals. He had a unique style of poetry that blended classical and modern elements. He was influenced by the works of Khushal Khan Khattak, Rahman Baba, Ghani Khan, and Qalandar Momand.[^1^]
